yourpc48 Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 My Uncle sent me the link to this. The music annoying but its interesting to see the car basically from start to finish in the factory in a film rather than just pictures. Quote

I suspect you are referring to one of the segments of "Master Hands" that has been floating around the old car discussion forums recently. You can see all of them at http://www.archive.org/ http://www.archive.org/details/MasterHa1936 http://www.archive.org/details/MasterHa1936_2 http://www.archive.org/details/MasterHa1936_3 http://www.archive.org/details/MasterHa1936_4 Quote
james49ply Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 It appears that they had robots then also, but it still took human hands to do most of the work. Quote

oldodge41 Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 I am surprised by the amount of automation in some parts of the factory. I would love to see the control systems for some of that equipment. Long before computers or PLC's and VFD's. Maybe timing drums with dc motors that could vary line speed? Maybe all mechanical linkages, I just don't know. Anyone know how this equipment was controlled? Quote
