Don Jordan Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 I feel guilty asking questions because of those that think I should know the answer and shouldn't bother them. But I'm not having any luck on my own. First: I can not find the "rocker panel" in the parts book. I'm not sure what they are called. I found the outside finish moldings but they don't look right. I'm trying to buy the clips that hook the rocker panel to the car. I was looking in Restoration Specialties catalog and I found clips for a 51 -52 Plymouth but I'm not sure what they are supposed to look like. Will those work? I see in the parts book a 'deck outside finish moulding T bolt.' Looks like it could work but I don't see a corresponding T bolt in the catalog. I would appreciate any insight in this matter. Sorry to bother you. Quote
yourpc48 Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) Hi. Let me get a little clarification. What year are you actaully looking for? and is it the lower stainless trim your trying to put back on or are you looking for new rocker panels to replace rusted out panels. If your looking for clips for a 46 - 48 to hold the stainless on I have mine off the car and can take a pic so you know what they look like. If its the lower rocker they call it the sill and here is a link to an auction for them although they seem a bit pricey: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-MOPAR-1946-8-PLYMOUTH-SILL-MOULDING-CLIP-SET-10-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem35b2b0ce0eQQitemZ230631198222QQptZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories If they are hard to find this is a set of NOS clips for $90 plus shipping. I think its an active auction. Hope this helps... Edited June 24, 2011 by yourpc48 Quote
RobertKB Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 The rocker moulding trim clips that hold the stainless trim on are very hard to find. I believe they are one of the few clips that Restoration Specialties does not carry. I bought an NOS set off ebay but I had "to pay to play" as they were not cheap. I was given a heads up on them by forum member Michael Warsaw who knew I needed a set. He was not the vendor but just doing me a favour. Keep checking ebay is my advice. Quote

Sorry to bother you. Don- Contact this man--Chuck at sixpak_mri4825na@members.ebay.com I bought six rocker panel clips from him earlier this month for my Dodge. They were the wrong pieces, but I was able to figure out they were for a late 40-early 50 Plymouth. Chuck did offer to re-ship other clips he had but I declined his offer. Ultimately, I returned the order to him for a full refund. I have pictures of mine and his clips, side by side, if you think that will help. Hope this leads you in the right direction. Niel Hoback Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 Original clip from P-15 rocker molding. Not a repro. Quote
