1948 seat question.

Does the seat in these trucks have movable backs? I just got the truck yesterday and it's been raining just about since I got home. I tried to move it when I unloaded it but didn't spend much time looking at it.

Yea that's what I was asking, I got a chance to go play with it and it doesn't at least best I can tell it doesn't I guess I have to pull it out to get behind it.

No the back of the seat does on tilt forward like some newer trucks . It does on my 48 because I have a seat from a powergiant in it.

if its like my 50 model the back lifts off to get behind it

48-50 are top hinged. Lift front of seat base, pull forward, detach seat back hooks from seat base loops. Pretty common to have "frozen" pivot rods.

Later series seats fit the framework as well, so your base cushion may not have the loops.
