I have just installed a T5 transmission in my 52 B3B and have a question for those of you who are running one. Does there need to be a crossmember for the tail housing or can you get by without one? I have been using this site for information on working on this truck. So far I have swapped disc brakes using the Olddaddy kit, rewired using a Haywire harnass, installed a power brake booster on the firewall plus a bunch of other things. Thanks for the help!

I did not attach my T5 transmission to the rear cross member on my 1937 Dodge MC. I did have to notch it at the bottom center to clear the tail housing and cut a notch for the gear driven speedometer cable. I did have a length of steel welded to the top of the cross member to strengthen it after removing material from the bottom.

I have one ordered from Trans Dapt, got a tubular crossmember with a 6" drop. This will bolt onto the inside frame channels. Might have to do some minor exhaust pipe modification though, but won't know for sure until I can mock it up.

I think a rear cross member is essential. It'll keep the rear of the trans vertically stable as the drive shaft constantly changes angles while driving. It'll take stress off the trans case mount tabs and bell housing holes.

Has anyone used a wilcap adapter witha 200r4? I am doing this and it removes the rear engine mounts. I have the front mount on the engine and the rear mount at the tail shaft on the trans. Should I install another mount at the rear of engine? Seems like a long span to me. Any ideas?
