It's one of those parts that makes or breaks the originality and historically correct look of your truck. It's a rare find (and the seller knows it) It looks to be in perfect shape (better than the Dodge one I have on my truck, which would probably require $100 in restorative SS work) The only thing you have going in your favor is that the seller has a limited audience. Sometimes offering 50% of what he's asking ($100) gets the seller to comeback with $150 then if you are lucky he'll settle for $125 other than that you are still in the "hunt" to find it somewhere else. I waited a couple of years (back in the 80's) to find the Dodge emblems on the left and right side of the hood (at a price I could afford). Parts for our trucks are reaching the "scarcer than hens teeth stage". My wife always tells me if you see something you want buy it. My old boss used to say "You only live once" Either way I wish you luck.

I have a Fargo and I have been watching that item for a while. The seller keeps reposting it and it is always the same price. I am going all original but at that price I might have to go with the DODGE emblem.

Contact the seller and see if he'll negotiate? Try just before the first of the month. Everyone has a mortgage or rent or bills to pay .

Just an idea,

Hank :)

The seller is Townwagon, a Forum member from Wisconsin who has an inventory of used and OEM Dodge truck 40's to 70's parts and sells on e-Bay. Eric sometimes has sales specials for Pilothouse Forum members. You may want to contact him privately.

I have replaced broken studs on these emblems by JB welding small #8 x 32 machine screws in place of the missing studs. If the screw has a round head grind it flat first. Works great.

Eric sells these parts for a living. He has to make money at it, just like any other business. Profit is not evil, its what enables us to pay yesterday's bills and move on to the next day of business. He provides a great service to the hobby in supplying parts and offering up his vast knowledge of Dodge Trucks. The ebay items have a $ticker on them but the knowledge could be considered priceless.

If one could not afford this Fargo emblem, that is understandable. But is overpriced? Considering its rarity and condition, probably not. Some may look at it like Eric is "sticking it to you". I prefer to look at it like this. He sells you parts you need, that you can't buy at the auto parts store, or possibly anywhere else.

Thanks Tony, I want to have a look if I can modify this one to fit my B2B..I know I take a risk but they look far better then the plain one I have..

Finally have finished all the panelwork on the 65 Valiant safari (my son) seepics , its ready for paint, took me 6 months of work of and on....and I am soooo ready to get back to my baby and finish it..If my sons Valiant had not come in between my B2 would have been on the road.. How's yours? any work done?

The badges shown in these posts are from 51 to 53. They suit the different sheet metal on these latter trucks.
