Carter BB - Large BB Stuck in Accelerator Pump

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys - I put the wrong BB in the Accelerator Pump - I've tried compressed air, dental picks - stiff wire - and also lightly heating the aluminum at the bottom of the Accelerator Pump. Any other suggestions other than drilling a hole at the bottom of the Accelerator Pump and pushing it out - then filling the hole with JBWeld?

Thanks,

Mike

Maybe a squirt of carberator cleaner and then some air? Or tap on the outside of the carberator when applying air? If you wind up drilling I would put a small plug in the bottom maybe a 1/4 -20? Or just ask on this site if someone has a spare old carberator that you can use. I have a spare but I do not know what your model is? I have a BVX-3 on my car but a manual one that is in pieces out out in my garage. Take look at the outside of the carberator and it will tell you what model you have. Most of these old manual carberators are just about the same. Jon

I've tried poking a wire - tried pb blaster and compressed air - tried heating it. Tonight I will drill a hole and poke it out - then I'll tap it and use JBWeld on a screw and screw the hole shut. Not sure how this will effect the running of the carb - but I'll hope for the best.

Thanks,

Mike
