After some attempts without starting I removed the airfilter and checked the stands of the choke (which was loosened from the dashboard removal).

Did not fully open so I corrected that.

Then tried again without airfilter and after some heavy coughing she started and produced a bit (read a nice cloud) of smoke.

Once that cleared she ran fine. Put the airfilter backon and started again, no problem.

Presume all contacts etc were a bit dirty aswell..

oilpressure during startattempts was over 40 and idling (with cold engine) still at 40. I know it will drop when the engine is warm.

Temp gauge seems to work (needle moved up).

Tomorrow I will put the front seat in and take a short drive to enjoy the car and the new dash and of course new tires !

Will keep you posted !

Glad it's chugging again, John. When putting the seat back in, be careful not to scratch the paint below the door with the feet of the seat. You might send us a couple pics of the car with wheels on, etc.

thanks guys,

will put some pics on, also have just ordered all kind of clips from Restoration Specalties so will get the stainless on soon as well.

Progress makes it a fun thing to do.

Curacao is next to Aruba (that is better known to US citizens), although Curacao is a bigger island, more things to do but we don't have the white beaches. Great scuba diving here as we have less sand that ruins the reef.

It is 60 miles out of the coast of Venezuela.
