OT Ebay Motors Website Problems

Hi all, I cannot seem to access the collector car section of Ebay Motors.

I am able to get to collector cars, then to 1940s cars, but cannot refine search to just 1940s Chryslers, it re-directs me to all years of Chryslers.

Anyone else having the same results....Fred

I have used this search pattern for a number of years, "194* Plymouth"

the astericks tells it to include all 1940's listings. Just pulled up 2100 + entries

substituting chrysler for plymouth pull up about 1200

Dodge pull 2200

change the 194* with 193* or 195* and you ger sorted for those decads

seems to be working well

have a look

It is still not working for me, I go to 1) collector cars, 2) 1940s, 3) Chryslers, which would always bring me to all 1940s Chryslers for sale. it now brings me to all Chryslers for sale, all 502 of them. this has happened everytime I open this, it says "done with errors'. I have no idea what went wrong

Just a suggestion....

In addition to using an asterisk for covering a decade, you can also use parenthesis ( ) to search for more then one make/model.

In order for this to work you have to separate the words with a comma.

Examples.......

193* (plymouth,dodge,desoto,chrysler,fargo,mopar,chryco,nash)

or

194* (plymouth,dodge,desoto,chrysler,fargo,mopar,chryco,nash)

TRY IT...you'll like it :)

I've been using the parenthesis for searches for years...but never knew about the asterisk...now that IS handy.:D

Shell, the easiest way I have used is this go to Ebay Motors, 1) Collector Cars, 2)1940s era, 3) choose the make,i.e. Plymouth, this will take you to all 1940-49 Plymouth cars for sale.

either way you search, once you have it defined as the way you want to look, book mark that page in your favorites. then all you need do is open the favorite and it will display the latest version of the search perameter, then you don't need to put anything inthe search bar as it is already there, If you open it in the am and then go back inthe PM just hit the refresh button of the browser for the entries of the day. I usually search most recent, and then ending soonest if there is something needing attention of some sniper ware.
