stick shift conversion

i have kinda been debating switching my truck from the standard 3-on-the-tree to a stick, and was wondering what vehicles would make a good donor for the top of the trans. were there any other vehicles with similar bolt-up transmission lids, or just the 1/2 ton PH?

I always thought three on the tree was a stick transmission. Opposition was an automatic transmission.

Don, He means A real stick shift:D I always thought coloum shifts were kinda strange so I am glad mines a 4 speed

You'll probably have to find a complete 3 speed from a 49 or earlier truck and swap in the whole trans. I believe there's more different than the top covers.

I have that same top cover you show in the picture I took the top off my 3 on the tree it fits but I don't know how to mount my hand brake lever on it can anyone help? Thanks Jason
