jamesadams Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Where do you find cab bushings for our trucks? Do i understand that there is something special about the front left one? Also, Chassis industries(i think) posted on their website that they no longer make the dakota crossmember. Does anybody else have one? Quote
Dave72dt Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 The original left front mount is different than the others. Most are putting the same mounts on all four corners. Quote

But I could never understand why the drivers front was different. I'd have to take a second look, but can only Imagine it had to do with carting Bubba's fat behind around during harvest time. Young Ed Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Its to keep the cab in the right place near the pedals. For the 39-47 trucks the left front is bolted solid and the other 3 have springs. And as further proof the right hand drive trucks the solid bolt moves to the right. Quote

It's all about Bubba. Quote
HanksB3B Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 of my reassembly was mounting the cab. It seemed simple enough to just follow the cab mount drawing, but proved to be a challenge getting the foot-starter to align and center with the starter arm. It also proved difficult to get the front edge of the doors to align with the trailing edge of the front fenders without having a tapered vertical line, close at the top (1/8") and wider at the bottom maybe (3/8"). I needed to shim between the radiator support and the frame. It turned out good enough that the only one that noticed was me, so I'm o.k. with it. Quote
