Hi Folks.

My 50 Meadowbrook has a recently built Overdrive from Asche, which I noticed recently that if I keep it in 2nd for a long time, the lever will slowly drop down until it disengages 2nd and goes to Neutral, usually when coasting.

Would you say this is a shift linkage adjustment or a bad trans?

Is the problem during a coasting condition, Up hill down hill-on the flats?

Well-If your shift linkage is tight and fully shifting the transmission shift lever into 2nd gear with no binding and the motor mounts are good and tight-engine not shifting and lastly you are not resting your heavy hand on the shift lever your issue probably would be a problem inside the trans- but check that the trans is bolted tight to the bell housing and carefully out all your linkage too.

Do you have a custom shift knob by chance?

Seen one years ago where the weight pulled it out.

Long shot but....
