aero3113 Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 One good reason to leave the stock 218 in Quote

John Mathias Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 I'm sorry, but if you can't drive...... What do you think dad said when he got home?? Mine caught me doing a donut in his Olds once, just once:o, couldn't sit for a month! Nowadays, parents will try to sue Dodge for an unsafe truck, kinda sad:( Quote
HanksB3B Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 would be more exciting if they put trees on the strip. What I want to know is what did they tell the insurance company. I think I'll forward the link to Tonya Harding, Danny Bonaduchi, and the like. Belongs on Worlds Dumbest for sure! Hank Quote
41/53dodges Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 I LOVE THAT SHOW! when did that even happen? Quote
Dan Babb Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 Crap like that shouldn't even be covered under insurance. The insurers should be allowed to have a "you do stupid stuff, you aren't covered" clause. Especially when you're dumb enough to have it show up on youtube. Quote
48Dodger Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 Whooa.....I have a 2006 dodge truck.....my name is Tim.....kind of an out of body experience for a moment...then I remembered... I know how to do a burn out! 48D Quote

tysouthwick Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 is it even possible to do a big burn out with the stock 218? once I got the tires to chirp once on a big 46 two ton Quote
John Mathias Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 My front brakes seized, then I was able to do one with very old bias ply with the 230. Right before I pulled it to send off for machine work. I won't say it was a big burn out, but it was neat seeing that old truck with tire smoke! Quote
51 Fargo Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 maybe he should have come over to my buddy,s shop the day I did the burn out in his yard.... he might have learned something Quote
HanksB3B Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 The guy reported the vehicle stolen, but what he didn't realize was that his buddy had posted the disaster on YouTube. As luck would have it, his insurance agent regularly visited Youtube out of the boredom of the current economic downturn and general lack of business. When he saw the video, he immediately called Mr Geko who as we all know runs the Geico fraud division. The driver is now serving time in Pelican Bay State Prison, where according to maximum security guards, he talks to no one and spends his days drawing pictures in red crayon of the Dodge Truck on the walls of his cell, while repeating over and over again Why...Why...Why? I do have too much time on my hands, Hank Quote
Dan Babb Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Here's an example of what I'm talking about. http://insurance.ca.gov/0400-news/0100-press-releases/2010/release040-10.cfm Some details: California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner announced today that on Friday, March 5, Jay Xi Chen, 21, and his sister, Tracy Chen Chen, 29, both of Diamond Bar, were arrested at their residence on felony auto insurance fraud charges for filing an allegedly false insurance claim surrounding damage done to a Nissan GT-R supercar. Jay was charged with six counts; Tracy was charged with one. A four-month investigation revealed that Jay reported to Farmers Insurance Exchange that his sister had been driving the GT-R when it was involved in a collision on Interstate 10 on March 16, 2009. Tracy corroborated this story. Jay later withdrew this claim, stating he would pay for the repairs himself. On June 2, 2009, Jay reported another claim with the same vehicle, stating that this time he crashed the auto while driving on Highway 60 in Riverside County. However, ICC Collision Center reported that it had Jay's unrepaired Nissan GT-R in its shop since March 2009. Furthermore, a video found on YouTube ( ) showed a Nissan GT-R being driven on Glendora Mountain Road during what appears to be a street race. The supercar crashed into a wall. Detailed inspection of the video showed the GT-R has the same damage as the one in Jay's claim. The potential loss of this claim was $76,000. Quote
HanksB3B Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 One summer, my friend a computer logic engineer working for JPL (Jet Propulsion Labs) at $120/hr., disappeared with his "to-die-for" girlfriend for a 3-week vacation. Eventually, he showed up by frantically calling me "Hank you gotta help me out" It seems that his three week journey involved driving all through the California Backcountry with his beautiful blonde girlfriend in a brand new BMW 750i which he bought on credit for around $75,000, and then listed with 10 different insurance companies. Do the math 75k x 10=$750,000 or simply stated 3/4 of a million dollars. The plan was when he returned from his road trip he turned the car over to a 23 year old. Instead of doing the promised Chop-Shop solution to get rid of the car, the kid found out that the car was a great chick magnet and spent the next couple of weeks crusing the Strip and picking up chicks. My friend and I took the car back from the kid (there was some violence that fortunately did not include guns, otherwise I would not be telling this story). I convinced my friend to immediately return the car and cancel all 10 insurance policies. He took a $13,000 loss on the car and that's not including the 10 insurance policy costs. I said "How could you be so stupid to think you'd get away with this is the computer age I'm sure insurance databases must be linked." I was right. Although he returned the car and canceled all policies, somehow this incident triggered an investigation. Subsequently, it was discovered (it was news to me as well) that some 10 years previous, my friend had done the same thing with a TransAm. I visited him in the State Penitentiary and reinforced my thoughts that Crime doesn't pay." Hank P.S. As far as the Nissan Race is concerned, I now feel inspired to call Nascar and suggest that for their night races they consider turning the stadium lights off for some number of laps as it could prove to make the event more exciting. Truly, "Stupid is as Stupid does". Quote
