Adam H P15 D30 Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) Got my 47 coupe for free. Buddy of mine owned it and wanted to hot rod it, so I subframed it for him and then he found out how far over his head he was. The lower 6 inches of the body was gone all the way around as were the floors. I even heard someone say it was "beyond repair." After that he was going to haul the whole thing off to the wrecker out of frustration. Instead it got hauled to my garage. Here are some picts....... He had started cutting the floors. Last one is the finished floors and firewall. Had to come back 4" for the hemi. Edited November 4, 2010 by Adam H P15 D30 Quote
ptwothree Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 An old guy living in the back house gave me a '55 Ford Crown Vic. Ran and looked great inside and out! This was 1970. At that time, $50 could still buy alot of car. Traded it straight across for a '66 Mustang 6mo later..wish I still had both....... Quote
pacerman Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Yes, when I was a teenager (in the 1960s) , my family bought a house and acreage in southern Indiana and there was 47 Plymouth coupe in the driveway that the previous owners had left behind. My dad bought a battery for it and my brother and I got it running. I learned to drive in that car. Just an old beater but it ran good. It had big rust holes in the floor. My Mom drove it to work one winter and used to get groceries on Friday afternoons after work. One week she broke a gallon of milk in the back seat and that car smelled like sour milk until my dad traded it in a while later. A neighbor bought it from the dealership and we used to see it around town for quite a while after we sold it. Every time I smell sour milk I think of that old Plymouth. Quote

Where in Southern Indiana was this house and car located? Quote
