Two rare vehicles........finally reunited!

do you think someone took some liberties with the application of the chrome fender welting..even my top line 41 Town Sedan does not have this

Hi Tim,

The 1941 Plymouth panel delivery is dressed up as a P12 with the bumper wings, P12 dash, chrome welting and it even has the optional passenger seat. As far as I understand all the optional car accessories were available for the Panel delivery (but very few were shipped out like the one pictured).

Please don't forget to mention how hard it is to install the chrome welting with out kinking it! Especially on a vehicle with so many tight turns/curves.

Like two children from the same mother and a different father.

Oh I admit it is very sharp having the chrome trim on and it really is not that expensive (based on first time done right)..mess up and you get up in the coin fast...Dennis Carpenter is about the better source for the stuff that I have found...at least I say that for I am right at their business doorstep about twice a year..

If anyone goes this route, the proper notching of the base is paramount to a clean install

The top of the line 1941 Canadian Dodge D21 SP had the chrome welting on the front between the fenders and rest of the body. This is shown in my completely original 1941 Dodge D21 Sedan. Original as having never seen paint since leaving the factory. The Canadian trim just must have been different. As mentioned, this is a Plymouth in Dodge trim. It does have the longer 25" engine though.

Roadkingcoupe, those are two beautiful looking vehicles!!

What's the difference between the D21 and the Kingsway? Trim? Just curious.

Tom

The D21 has an extra stainless trim piece above the thicker piece of trim as seen in the second picture of my car. It runs from the back of the hood to the same point at the back as the other trim. Also there is trim around the windows. The running boards had trim as did the bottom of the front fender. The trim on the driver's running board is missing on my car and that is the only piece that is. The passenger side has both pieces. Also the bumpers have the bumper wings instead of the bumper guards.

Robert, couldn't you park any closer to the wall?

Looks like alot of wasted space there.

That is actually at the house where I bought it. I got it home and had it under my carport for a while and now it is in my garage where my '48 usually sits. I have to clean and rearrange the garage a bit and then I can have all four of my flatties together. '48 is still out at the painters but will be back soon. '41 Dodge is actually for sale if anyone out there is interested.
