sniggle_t Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Hey everyone, Figured I would finally say hi after lurking for a few weeks. I just picked up a 51 B-3-D "kit" truck. Right now it looks like the truck exploded in my driveway. She's a beauty! I'll be looking for lots of parts and asking tons of questions. My dad had a 49 1/2 ton years a go and when I saw this one I had to have it. Anyone else in Upstate NY? I'll post up a few pictures tomorrow. Scott Quote
MBF Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Hi Scott-I'm in the Hudson Valley near New Paltz. There is another member up in Red Hook. Welcome to the forum. Mike Quote
ggdad1951 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Welcome B-3-D brother! I understand about the plethora of parts, I have a 3 stall garage I can't park in and parts in the basement! Look forward to pictures! Quote
Reg Evans Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Welcome ! Looking forward to the photos. Quote
sniggle_t Posted September 2, 2010 Author Report Posted September 2, 2010 Here are the pictures I promised. I also got a '48 cab in the deal that I will use for a future project. I am going to start with the chassis and then move on to the body. The cab is in good shape but it will need fenders, running boards, one bed side, the end of the bed against the cab, a tailgate, and at least one rear fender. Oh, and the removable portions of the floorboards. I will also be searching for the correct front rims. So for now I'll get to work on the chassis and start saving for the parts I need. Quote
William Davey Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Welcome to the site, like you I also lurk a lot, and I have learned a lot by just sitting on the sidelines watching. Others will probably also prompt you to complete your profile in the "User CP" (control panel). You can include your vehicle and your location which will help others help you. As far as "upstate", I live in Oswego about 50 miles north-west of Syracuse. A guru on this site is Greg G who lives in Manlius. If you consider Poughkipse Upstate, we're in the frozen far north. ggdad1951 Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 I see you have the dually horns! NICE! Mine was in much better shape, I have a tailgate, while rough, that I'd get to you for the same for what I paid for it. Quote
Allen I. Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 I'm in Rochester Just a bit west of a couple other folks. Welcome. William -- Those guys down there think of us as Western NY as Buffalo Quote

HanksB3B Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 You are not allowed to sent plants transcontinental. You could start a genetic mutation that could cover the entire earth in some sort of moss or algae. Hank Quote
