steveplym Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Went to an antique car show on Sunday in Pinckneyville, IL. Usually go every year. Just went to look this year. Saw some nice cars. Probably the best two I saw were a '39 Studebaker truck and a '38 Hudson Terraplane pickup. The same gentleman owned both cars. Both were super clean. Several mopars and others. No P-15's this year. Didn't really see that many cars from the forties. A couple of Fords and Mercs. Seemed to be lots of '50 Chevies. Follow the link to the photobucket album for more pics. http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u122/siufan6/Pinckneyville%20Threshermans%20Show%202010/ Quote

1940plymouth Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 I have always liked the looks of the Studebaker and Hudson versions of those. I guess you could say they were ahead of thier times, as Ford and Chevy didn't come out with that style until '57 for Ford and '59 for Cheverolet. Although those type vehicles were popular "Down Under" long before here in the states Quote

Greenbomb Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Cool trucks-way ahead of their time. My brother did a bunch of body work on a '39 Stude PU, including making a new tailgate. That ain't easy what with the compound curves and rolled edges and all. He amazes me- he locks himself in the shop, puts on his pointy hat with the moons and stars on it and proceeds to work his magic. I didn't inherit that gene. Quote
