greg g
Need a little more info. Are you offshore or in Canada??? US Plymouts don't have 25 inch engines. As long as you are going 25 to 25 or 23.5 to 23.5 everything should bolt in.
bcballpark
Hi greg, my '40 ply. Has a 23" head 218 in it now. Will a 25" head chrysler '53 230 (i think it is a plymouth also, but not sure--hell it might be a 23" head one, so no problem) bolt right in or will i have to turn my motor mounts around and move the radiator foward? He is measuring it tomorrow. If it is a 25" head chry/dodge, should i buy it? John
greg g
gotta make room for the two inches forward of the bell housing, so yes those items need to be dealt with and the posibility of modifying the front cross member to clear the front pulley

JohnS48plm
Greg, John found out today the it is a 23" engine with a 2 speed automatic. I though he told me it was out of a 55 Plymouth. The plan is to go on a road trip about an hour north ro see the engine and hear it run this weekend. If it looks good we'll be hauling it home.
