Fuel Line Positioning

Folks,

On another thread, someone suggested I somehow move to protect the rubber fuel line so that it doesn't get melted by the exhaust. I must be retarded or something because I can't think of a good way to keep the line cleared so that there isn't a safety problem. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I think it should be fine, the exhaust is not as hot at the rear of the car. You can maybe put some fuel resistant sealant on the ends of the hose by the clamps just in case if it decides to leak.

Those wires look a little too close for comfort also. Could you just replace the rubber section with metal from the tank up to the end of the line at the top of the rubber section? Then just use a 2" piece to connect the two metal lines.

Why is the pipe routed under the tank?? I might want to address the exhaust locatioin then go after the gas line and wires.

I think on a P15 there is room (just barely) to run the driver's side

pipe between the end of the gas tank and the spring. It does mean

the tailpipes are farther outboard than these probably are.

Maybe some "exhaust wrap" as mentioned in another recent post would be a possibility.

Folks,

I measured today the length between the exhaust and the fuel line. It is 10 inches away. I'm good there. And the wires are 7 inches away from the exhaust so I think I should be good there as well.
