Temp Sensor Bushing?

Anyone know where i can get the reducer that is used to go from the block to the temp sensor for a 47 D24? I have a new (dodge) temp sensor that has the bulb and tube intact with nut but it doesn't fit through the reducer that came with the generic sunpro guage i currently have. What can i use to put the oem style temp bulb back in?

Do you happen to know what size/thread the hole in the block is?

go to the parts store..these bushing are made specific for the guage..check the Stewart Warner line of brass fittings..you may have to ask a counter person to reference a book..

HanksB3B can tell you the part number for that fitting in brass. I bought and installed a temp sensor from him a couple weeks ago, and he sent me the number, but I have deleted the message. I found the exact fitting I needed in my box of odds and ends plumbing fittings, so it must be pretty common. Joel

is this the puppy you need?

notice the bevel seat at the bottom of the inner threads...this is you r seal for the new thermal bulb..the nut is just a jamb nut..goes from standard SAE to a 1/2 Pipe..

that one looks right, i'm just trying to find one that has a big enough hole through it that the old dodge bulb will fit through, the adapter i have now is the right threads on both sides but the hole just isn't big enough to slide the bulb through, i was half tempted to just drill it out some
