47Plymouth
Hi all i'm reassembling my 52 Pilothouse and there is are small holes where something should be pop riveted under where the hood rests on the cab. Anyone know what should go there and where can i purchase it? Jerome
Merle Coggins
You need the hood cowl lacing. It attaches with small nail like rivets. I got mine from Roberts. His part number is T11
HanksB3B
On my truck, due to forensics, the holes were overworked and not holding the spiral-cut tacks and I was not looking forward to crunching one on my new paint job so I drilled to match the pop-rivet diameter and used (I think 1/16" dia) pop rivets. I also fixed another thing that always annoyed me. If you look at the third rivet up from the fender, I added this hole midpoint of the radius because the cowl lacing would always slip off the crown and kind of droop. Like Merle, I too purchased the cowl lacing from Roberts. Every once in a while I saturate it in oil which really brings up the detail. It's a fun job, so enjoy..
