48Dodger Posted March 7, 2010 Report Share Posted March 7, 2010 The frames themselves are similar in demension...its the hole placement that changes. The 48-49 mounting holes for the steering are different than the 1950...etc. In all you can make any frame from 48-53 work....just watch for componet issues. The first image is a 1950 steering box bolt pattern held agaisnt a 1948. The second is a the actual 1950 frame. 48D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
JBNeal Posted March 7, 2010 Report Share Posted March 7, 2010 I'm kinda thinkin' that the '48-'49, maybe '50, had a different crossmember when the fuel tank changed shape so that it mounted directly to the frame without mounting brackets.
