55 Fargo Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Hey, I was perusing the latest issue of Hot Rod Deeluxe Magazine, came across a feature on Car Club Plaques, featuring a plaque collector Stan the Plaque Man. I was amazed at the many different plaques, most of which are from the Southern California area. But I was sure surprized when I saw plaques from my Hometown, Winnipeg, and surrouding area of Manitoba. Clubs such as Coiquistadores, Pacemakers, King Pins, Coils Customs, Thunderbirds, Strokers, and Catalina Car Clubs. Now that is anot a bad number of clubs for little old Winnipeg and area.......Fred Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 In my hometown in MO during my high school days, several of the car guys formed the "Kustom" club. Not the most original name perhaps, but they had license plaques made. Some were mounted on or below the bumper, some made brackets to display them in the back window. Quote
LuckyDevil Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Awesome article. It would be a neat accessory, but you won't find one for Oklahoma city. By the way, what ever happened with the license plate toppers? There was a thread not too long ago about making some P-15 D-24 toppers. Here are a couple cool ones. Quote
55 Fargo Posted February 15, 2010 Author Report Posted February 15, 2010 Here is a plate topper I have, it was from a Farmer out of North Dakota, he passed away years back, not sure where he got it from......... Quote
Robin (UK) Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 I've just had a second run of these made for our Rhythm Riot festival. The pin-up girls were drawn by Vince Ray, famous UK low-brow artist, and the tag toppers were cast by O'Brien Truckers. Black Widow Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 LuckyDevil check this out. http://www.relicsandrods.com/Cities/OklahomaCity.htm Don't know how hard they would be to find, but they do exist. For any one else who's interested here's the link to a list (with photos) that is sorted by cities. http://www.relicsandrods.com/carclubplaques.htm Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 There is a guy on EBAY that sells the club Plaques. Quote
