Hi,

while I am looking for the clips for the chrome strips for a while (never had one as the stainless came without any) I saw on ebay an add for Moulding clips.

"You are buying ten (10) NOS Auveco fasteners. They are body belt moulding clips for 1946 1947 1948 1949 1950 Plymouth passenger cars. These clips are 1.187" x 1.060".

"

From : http://stores.ebay.com/Fasteners-Plus

My questions :

Are these the clips that would be used for the stainless that is over the hood, doors etc?

Or are these for the two stainless strips that goes on the rockers (under the door etc).

If these are correct, anyone knows how many of these would be needed?

$22.50 for 10 is not exactly cheap.

John, belt moulding is the trim that is on the hood, door and quaterpanel. I noticed that on ebay they can be quite expensive. Restoration Specialities is one company that sells trim clips. Did you check the suppliers on the main site of P15-D24? There might be some there. Brendan.

Brendan,

thanks, I contacted Restauration Specialists once but they suggested to look at their catalog or send an example.

As I did not have an example I had no clue what to look for and certainly could not send one to them.

If these are correct at least I have something to work with.

After we painted the car I noticed that one side has more holes for the trim than the other. So how much would normally be sufficient to put all the belt moulding on the car?

Any suggestions on clips for the front fender trim (from the headlight back) appreciated aswell!

I was looking just yesterday at their catalog for the 48 Plymouth stuff..for sure the clip they list is correct for the belt line..rest assured that they do not have the clip for the brow wrapping around the front fender from the headlight door center. Lou I think even called them about that..no go..that will be a custom made unit..you can use their generic cut to fit Number: 2356 for .75 each for that application.

John, there are two places in the suppliers list in the links section of this site and I also noticed today on ebay that there is a seller from the Netherlands selling moulding clips, probably you could check with him and see what he got. Brendan.
