greg g Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 In the form of a nor easter bringing 8 to 24 inches of general snow fall. Measurments in Redfield NY notes 11 feet 9 inches since last Saturday, Mexico fell behind at 10 feet 4 inches. Now a generalized nor easter is set to bring another couple of feet to the area. Long range forcast for next week is calling for temps in the 50's. Good thing the moisture content of LE snow is low, the 11'9" will only melt down to about the same runoff as 3 inches of rain. Thanks Nino~ Quote
Tim Frank Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Well, just so long as it's 24" of "general snow" as opposed to another 24" of that darn lake effect snow, everything is good.... Have to say, I am not that far away in straight-line miles ( maybe 200?) and have often heard of lake effect snow, but had no idea of how large a dump could take place as a result of the phenomenon. Wow! Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Guys, Hate to rain on your good fortune of the snow is over. However, you may have more heading your way. Chicago area is supposed to get about a foot of snow. Just heard it on the news earlier tonight. We are on the northern edge and expected to get about 3" out of it. Quote
55 Fargo Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Hey you know, it's pretty darn cold here right now, it's -12 nad going down -20 or so. Our day time highs for the next 2 days is about 2 to 4 above, on friday it's supposed to go up to 25. But the roads and highways are dry, the driving conditions are great and we don't have that much snow on the ground, a general 18 inches, with drifts of course much higher. I prefer this to snowing.............Fred ps my vehicles stay real clean when its this cold the salt has no effect Quote
