bach4660 Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 I think that it is the "road draft tube" and is just that a tube. Quote

grey beard Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Fernando, It is possible to use the topmost part of that vent tube and weld or braze a hose fitting to it. Then from the rubber hose you connect to that spot you run to the vacuum port plug on the center of your intake manifold, and put a PCV valve in the rubber line from a later model vehicle with a similar size displacement engine - like a 200 cid engine. This arrangement will give you a positive crankcase vent system that will help to keep the crankcase much cleaner and free from condensaton. I have one on my truck and i works just fine - not expensive, either. Look in the picture for the round red par jusr underneath and ar the back of the exhaust manifold. Mine is connected with copper tubing instead of rubber hose, but either will work. Good LUck and a Happy Christmas to you and yours. Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Anyone has a exploded view of this air cleaner? Fernando; Your picture appears to be a dual carburetor setup? Is that what you have? Quote
aero3113 Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Here is how I did mine. I got the valve from vintage power wagons. I hooked it up to the intake port with the wipers using a T fitting. Works great. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted December 11, 2009 Author Report Posted December 11, 2009 Yes, grey beard and aero 3113 these examples are the same as Jeep Willys 1942 and GMC truck 2 1/2 ton 6x6 1944 that I have.Don Coatney my pic is from a manual(D-14966).Happy Christmas for you and your family. Quote
