thinwallet Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 It seems like the Clunkers program should provide ample parts to modify the old bench seat in my B3C. Has anyone found a good marriage of a late model seat(s) for their Pilot House or, has anyone learned a sorry lesson the hard way? I'd be grateful to hear either way. Thanks Quote
Young Ed Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 Ive seen some mid and rear mini van seats look right at home in pickups. Quote
thinwallet Posted November 13, 2009 Author Report Posted November 13, 2009 There's a wrecking yard near me that got most of the pickups from the Duluth-Superior area. I thought I'd go shopping. Now I'll look at the mini's as well. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 Lots of dakotas and s10s with bench seats too. Saw a lot of amazingly nice trade ins at french lake. Crazy. Where abouts are you in MN/WI and does this yard have old cars too? Quote
thinwallet Posted November 13, 2009 Author Report Posted November 13, 2009 I'm in Superior but haven't found any yards with the very old cars or trucks. I did luck out and find a '53 that I scavenged a few items from. Quote
Reg Evans Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 Are you looking for buckets to replace the bench seat or is your truck missing the bench seat. Just curious. Quote
thinwallet Posted November 13, 2009 Author Report Posted November 13, 2009 I've got a bench seat, wrong color for the eventual truck repaint and it's neither original nor even fastened tp the truck. I hope that with all the vehicles about to be crushed, I can find something really nice while stillaffordable and ideally a 60/40 similiar to what I have and love in my new truck. Dan Quote
taz06961 Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 I bought the middle seats out of a Ford van. They have armrests, seat belts tilt and swivel. They were the right color and I was able to buy them for $35. I had to shorten the posts but that was easy. I kept the raised original seat mount so I can go back to original. My truck is a B4B, 1953. Good luck, Jim Quote
thinwallet Posted November 16, 2009 Author Report Posted November 16, 2009 Today I learned that seats do not hold up very well without windshields and windows to protect them! After slipping and sliding all over a slippery junk yard I did find a pair of leather buckets that were just the right color - that they were electric and heated was a plus. Now I can decide what the interior will look like? Quote
