DigmyP18 Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 I figure that you had already made your decision before you made the hour drive out there to do an oil change. If you weren't sure before you left the house then you were surely on board about 12 seconds after you saw it. I'm sure most of us would adopt it in a heartbeat. Nice find. Isn't there a Man Law somewhere that when you find about a neglected old vehicle that it is your duty to rescue it? Or at least pass the info along to somebody that will? If it's not a rule then it should be. Quote
1955 plymouth Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 so, I have the title for the truck now, truck is still in the feild, no longer burried in the mud, ready for the tow truck. I did get the title, it is from 1963 looks alot different than the current titles in WA state. Not sure if I sould just keep the old title for nestalgia and apply for lost title or make a photo copy of it and turn it in? Quote
norrism1 Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 Get a Bill of Sale. Even if free should CYA in case someone in the family later claims it is theirs and you lose all money and time working on it. My 2c Quote
1955 plymouth Posted February 16, 2010 Author Report Posted February 16, 2010 So, The truck made it home today. I have now named this truck "president". here are a couple pictures hooking up to tow truck. Quote
austinsailor Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 I noticed the comments about keeping the title, etc. In Missouri you can fill out a form to have the old title returned to you. They stamp "canceled" on it, but you are supposed to get it back. You might check to see if they have such a process there. Be warned, though, that I'm running 50% in getting them back. Gene G. Quote
41/53dodges Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 so how is the truck these days? i havent seen anything about it recently. I think we generally tend to enjoy hearing about these... Quote
wendleburger Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Congratulations. It's a good thing you have done, like adopting a dog from the animal shelter Hopefully it can once again become the proud machine it once was. Quote
1955 plymouth Posted March 30, 2011 Author Report Posted March 30, 2011 O.K here is an update on the International. I have walked around it several times, kept the hood hinges lubed, opened the door to peer inside several occasions. Other than that it has sat in the back yard atop blocks. I'll try to find a couple pictures here. I have a real busy time being in business for myself just over a year now, not alot of vehicle time at all, I have been driving my '52 pilothouse to and from work on most days this year, it is the shop truck!
