Reg Evans Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Here's my generator. It's running right now cause the power has been out since yesterday afternoon at 4:30. The phones were out too until an hour ago. No computer is even worse than no light. I just run extension cords into the house. We got a little over 2" of rain with high winds. This knocked out power to 4500 homes here and knocked this branch out of this tree. I already am sick of winter and it's not really here yet. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Reg.... What I want to know is, how do you get that truck out of the shelter with the tree growing in front of the door like that? Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Oh.....I don't drive it that much. The tree is really fast growing so I just prune it off at the ground when I wanna go for a ride. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . OR.........The shed is open at both ends:p Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 In that case, I guess the tree isn't in the way then. I should have walked around the building for a look at the other end. That looks like a Willow tree. Those things can be a mess even in good weather. They grow all over the place, even the roots go everywhere. Neighbor behind me had one that use to drop branches in almost every storm. He finally had it cut down. At least it doesn't look like that branch did any damage. But.......then again, I didn't walk around the other side for a better look. Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 I don't think it hurt the metal roof Norm. When it stops raining I'll get rid of that branch. Actually the tree is slated to be removed by me anyway cause it's shading our veggie garden now and it's crowing out my other most favorite weeping willow. It was a gift about 10 years ago from my sister in law so I feel guilty about my plans for the tree. That's why I took that photo .........I'll be able to show her why I removed it. You are right about the branches falling and the roots invading the yard and garden area. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Reg, That makes it hard to cut down trees that were gifts from someone. When my daughter and son were small back in the early 70's, they each took a maple tree seed and planted them in the yard. My daughter planted her's near the garage just past the back. Then I needed a storage shed built around 1990. Didn't want to put the storage shed in the middle of the yard, so that meant put it behind the garage. Well.........once built, the tree was too close to the shed doors. So.........had to cut it down. Daughter was a little put out because I cut her tree down. Said I could have built the shed somewhere else. But........The shed fit better where I built it. Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 The blood must run cold through your veins Norm. Quote
