I've been thru the tech archives to no avail. Can anyone tell the correct way to polarize a new stock 6v Voltage Regulator installed on a stock truck with stock positive ground? Do I need to disconnect the battery before installing? Which connection do I touch to where?

thanks

The regulator does not need to be polarized . The generator does if it has been disturbed and a handy place to do this can be at the regulator . Do you need to polarize your generator ?

Thanks Jerry Do you mean that if I am only replacing the VR I simply bolt it in and I'm done as long as I have not changed the generator? Do I need to even unhook the battery?

It is good practice to disconnect your battery when working on your electrical system so you don't create an unintended spark or short something out .
