Vazlov1949 Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 I've been thru the tech archives to no avail. Can anyone tell the correct way to polarize a new stock 6v Voltage Regulator installed on a stock truck with stock positive ground? Do I need to disconnect the battery before installing? Which connection do I touch to where? thanks Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 The regulator does not need to be polarized . The generator does if it has been disturbed and a handy place to do this can be at the regulator . Do you need to polarize your generator ? Quote
greg g Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 (edited) search word polorize on the car board yielded, use the Delco method. Edited August 21, 2009 by greg g Quote

Thanks Jerry Do you mean that if I am only replacing the VR I simply bolt it in and I'm done as long as I have not changed the generator? Do I need to even unhook the battery? Quote
greg g Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 If you did not mess withthe genny it will be OK with the new VR. Quote
