br0k3N18 Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 so my trucks missing the plate that goes on the driverside door jamb? is this bad?....I looked in my box of parts, but can't find it... I seen on eBay they're repopping blank ones... Quote
oldmopar Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 Depends where you live so states check for the plate to match numbers to the title but where I am they do not look at the truck just process the title. There also should be a serial number on the frame I think on the left side near the front spring connection Quote
br0k3N18 Posted August 19, 2009 Author Report Posted August 19, 2009 I Seen that in the VIN Decoding section, ill check it out! Thanks! Quote
smallblockjunkie Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 The # on the frame is hard to see so look and look again I looked several times before I could see it. the light was just right one day and there it was. Quote
grey beard Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 Don't knock yourself out - Vintage Power Wagon sells any plate you can imagine . . . and a few you can't. Just get one to match your truck year and stramp your title numbers in there, or find someone else with the same size truck and get the gvw and hp info from them. This should be the toughest problem you ever encounter on your restoration journey . . . Good Luck Quote

If it was previously registered out of state, they do a VIN check of plate of the vehicle, to make sure it isn't stolen. Edited August 19, 2009 by coW52Dodge Quote
olddodgeguy Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 When you say left side are you refering to drivers or passengers side? My front clip is off and I checked both sides. Didn't see a thing. Would like to narrow the search to one side! Thanks! Mike Quote

48Dodger Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 (edited) Left side is the driver side. The numbers are light. I have a few frames laying around and none "pop out". Just clean and rub til the numbers show themselves. 48D Picture from the DPETCA Knowledge page Edited August 20, 2009 by 48dodger Quote
