Jims50chrysler Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 Ok it was only out of the garage and back in but when you have not drove them in a while it is a good feeling. while it was out I cleaned the shop out wall to wall floor to ceiling and found some of those little things that I have misplaced over the last year and a half...like the workbench and the contact wire for my horn that I thought I would never see again...now where the heck is my manual??? 55 Fargo Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 (edited) Way to go Jim, you'll barreling down the 401 in Tronna doing 70 mph in no time....Fred Pic of Hwy 401 Freeway in Toronto, Ontario, case anybody doesn't think we have traffic problems north of the border in Canada Edited July 7, 2009 by Rockwood Quote
Young Ed Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 Fred those lanes look fairly clear to me. If you had a picture of most of the highways here at rushhour times there wouldn't be light between the bumpers! Quote
Jims50chrysler Posted July 8, 2009 Author Report Posted July 8, 2009 Well Fred I don't shy away from the 401 through Toronto but it is always an experience driving through in an old car...the last time was in my '46 ford grown men driving like idiots just to get a look at the car and once beside you they start waving and staring at the car not paying attention to the highway, strange. I do look forward to picking up the grandkids in the old car and they are right downtown....another adventure. Jim Quote
PatS.... Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 Fred those lanes look fairly clear to me. If you had a picture of most of the highways here at rushhour times there wouldn't be light between the bumpers! Ed, that traffic is STOPPED and they are STILL THERE!!!!! It's like that here as well...rush "hour' is all day except for between 11:30am and 1:30pm, and there is construction on every single road in the city!!!! Quote
55 Fargo Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 Hi Ed, trust me this city(Toronto), gets hectic on the freeways. The greater Tornto area has a pop of 5.5 million people, and they all got get somehwere quick. There are at least 4 major freeways running into this city, and converging at some point, the infamous 401, the 400, the Donvalley Parkway, and the QEW that goes to Niagra Falls. I ahve been stuck on freeway a few times there, traffic somtimes stops dead, good time to bring a book. Having said this, any US big City is the same, glad I live in a small city (area), Winnipeg area approx 800000 souls....... Quote
Young Ed Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I'm very glad I go the opposite direction of most people. So traffic is usually stopped on the other side of the road while I go sailing by. Quote

I am lucky to Ed, all small country highways from my place to work, about 25 miles. My Wife has to go into the city, even though Winnipeg is a 1/3 of the size of the Twin Cites, traffic can be a bear.....Fred Quote
