p24-1953 Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 http://atlanta.craigslist.org/cto/1232861500.html if only had money and a bigger garage.... Quote
adam_knox Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Wow! What a find! I'm really surprised at the price. Maybe its because I'm used to seeing woody convertibles listed to near 6 digit prices. I've always had an inkling for a woody wagon, but the extra maintenance on the panels scares me off. Just outta curiosity, do those 50's wagons get hotter than 4 door sedans in summer? I remember we went to Yellowstone two summers ago and got caught in midday construction on our way into the park. I remember thinking, "Oh man, imagine if we were in the Plymouth!" I do believe if I ever got an older wagon that would be the one modification I would add...air conditioning! Quote
RobertKB Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 At that price, someone had better jump on it quickly. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Whoa.......I've never seen one of those before. Did not know such a thing was made in Dodge. Wonder if it's really real....or a phantom....that the seller believes to be original. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) Have seen a 1949 model. 1953 Dodge all steel wagon. Edited June 22, 2009 by BobT-47P15 Quote
49roadster Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 1950 was the last one made by Chrysler corp. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 (edited) You could get a 53 Dodge with wire wheels and a continental kit..... But, so far, I can't find any listing for a 53 Dodge woody wagon. However I think its pretty neat. I just signed up with a station wagon forum......to see if they know of such a thing. Will check with them a bit later tonite. Edited June 23, 2009 by BobT-47P15 Quote
RobertKB Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 I think people are right......no such thing. If it was a real woody, it would be worth a lot more money. It still looks really good and whoever did it, did a nice job. Quote
wayfarerstranger Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 nice car , but it is a home made DUDE !! Quote
Charlie Olson Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Yep, that is a very nicely done Phantom, from what I can see in the photos. I would like to see more pics, so I think I'll email the seller and ask for some. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Go for it Charlie. Would be fun to see more. Ask if he thinks the car is factory originl or something someone built themselves. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 I signed up on the Station Wagon Forum........if you have a wagon, and want an additional place to chat......http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=4 Seem like pretty decent fellows, what little I've seen so far. None of them were familiar with such a Dodge wagon.....they also thought it was a one-off done by an individual. At least, it gave us something to talk about for a while. Quote
