Hey guys. Just got done looking at Dans interior pix and realized he did not have the corner windows like me and that he has the shoulder belts mounted.

Anyone else have should belts mounted without the corner windows?? IF so, could you post some pix and share your experiences please.

I have seen Merle's with the corner windows as well as others. Just trying to figure what works best for mounting.

Thanks!

Look up Jim Shepard's pictures in the members photos. I believe he has pictures there. He posts here regularly too, so you might PM him if you can't find any photos.

Above is the link "Vist DEPTCA", Then click "Pilothouse Gallery", then go through the member files until you find who you're looking for. here's a direct link to Jim's pics.

Jim's truck has corner windows and his belts are attached like mine. Or I should say that mine are like his, since I patterned mine after his. I can see the dilema with non-corner window cabs. The corner structure is different and that mounting spot is not there. Dan's mount seems a bit high up, but there aren't many other choices.

Could you box in a section of the "B" pillar to make a belt mount?

I'm curious: How did you attach the top mount, Merle?

I'd like to install seatbelts at some point and have been debating on how to do it such that it is least obtrusive and safe.

My installation is not permanent yet. I have entertained the idea of attaching a vertical strut between the horizontal ribs to allow me to drop the mount point a bit. Sure wish I'd put more thought into it before I painted the cab but that was 14 years ago. Even where they are mounted now, my 5' wife finds them usable.

I was thinking the same way as you Merle. That's why I was looking for some pix on actual mounts folks have done where they don't have a corner window. That is the way I am leaning but instead of creating the wheel all over...

Thanks guys!

As stated in this thread I have corner windows so my cab already has a filler plate between the "B" pillar and the window. This is where I mounted my belt anchor. Once I figured out where I wanted the top mount I drilled a hole through the filler plate for the anchor bolt. I then drilled two more holes, one above and one below the first hole. these holes were smaller. Then I took the anchor plate, supplied by Jullianos with the belts, and attached a wire to it so that I could lower it down behind the plate until it lined up with the center hole. I then used a regular bolt into the anchor bolt hole and bolted it up tight to the plate. I could then spot weld the anchor plate to the filler plate through the other two holes. The welds only hold the plates in place until you can put in the anchor bolt with the upper mount. If you don't want to weld because your cab is already painted, you could probably drill the other two holes through the anchor plate too, then tack weld some nuts to the back side and use screws to hold the anchor in place. Or you may even be able to tap the anchor plate for the screws to attach to.
