I bought a pair of them for a 42 Plymouth Business Coupe I had in the shop. One arrived already separated from the metal bracket....the other one separated during install. I tried returnin them, but that proved to be a waste of time. I ended up drilling holes in the brackets to increase the surface area and using JB Weld to glue the rubber to the bracket. Last I heard they were still in place on the car. The sweet smell of a cheap deal fades quickly due to the stink of a poorly made item...............and worse, poor customer service spelled Bernbaum.

Thanks for that last post. I'll look elsewhere for mine. I cannot understand why he hasn't gotten wise to this criticism and cleaned up his act. He musn't care.

That's great. The thought of Andy B. swigging his potion in a back room of his place is too much. When I call, I get the Mister. When I used to call, that is. Some people here have spoken with the Doctor. Search the forum for full background. And not just here. Other forums are rich with anecdotes about him. Funniest thing I ever read about him was on this site, when someone referred to him as Andy Burn-Bomb.

I've always called him Burn-Bomb. I was burned once and never again! I retacted that statement on the AACA site. They didn't like it!

When I first bought my car a couple of years ago, I asked somebody on a Desoto site about parts, and he gave Andy a very positive thumbs up. So I went out and bought wheel cylinders and some other stuff. Now, I am wondering if I should even bother using them. I've heard some good and bad about them. I would re-sleeve now, and I will do that with the rears. But I guess if the new ones look okay inside they'll work.

I don't know with Andy if it's a case of loving old cars, wanting to provide parts for them but not having a detail oriented mind to properly spec out the new ones, or seeing a market and not really caring if the products work well or not.

I have spoken to him on the phone and he was okay but I definately caught that "New York" attitude or whatever it is. Not a lot of patience there, I would say. Maybe that is the clue to why his parts get a bad rap. I would think that you'd have to have patience to sit down and plan out where and how you make new parts for this market. I hate to judge people but so many have had the same bad experience that there has to be some truth to these things.
