Now I have a 108 inch wheelbase truck. It was kinda scary to see that huge gap in the frame after the cuts, but after gusseting the rails and squeezing the frame back together, it came out fine. A good nites work. Bud :D

Hey Bud,

You cut and paste'd the frame with the cab on? Or did you take your measurments from underneth? I realize its a Dakota frame, how did you determin the "cut" location?

Got your E-brake bracket saved for ya. Let me know when yer ready fer it.:D

Yeah, I did the cuts with the cab on, and yes, I took measurements from underneath, harder, but did not want to remove the cab again, I determined the "cut" location by realizing that it is the only place on the frame that is the same width and has the length to take 23 inches out of it. Thanks for saving the e brake bracket, but I just found mine in a pile of stuff when I cleaned the garage, I appreciate you holding it for me though. How is your truck coming? Time is getting closer.....LOL :D

Bud ,..that looks real good !,You Are Very Talented Is the side to side Measurements all ok for that cab? Thanks Nu

the side to side measurements are very good, the frame is a great option, but i would recommend you use the stock frame and upgrade the suspension components and brakes. I put mine on the Dakota Chassis as the truck is being built for the wife and she has some disabilities. The power rack and pinion, discs and the modern drivetrain will be much easier for her. Bud

I've been considering putting a Dakota frame under my 52, My Grandpa put the frontend of a Dakota under his 47 Coupe....was thinking of doing the same.... but whats the advantage of doing an entire frame swap? any? Very interested in this!

as quoted on the prior post..... "I put mine on the Dakota Chassis as the truck is being built for the wife and she has some disabilities. The power rack and pinion, discs and the modern drivetrain will be much easier for her." This is not AN EASY TASK, YOU MUST HAVE SOME WELDING SKILLS AND SOME FABRICATION SKILLS AND (SOME PEOPLE THINK) YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST A QUARTER OF YOUR LEFT BRAIN LOBE MISSING.....Bud

hows the truck coming along Bud?

been kinda slow, I'm looking for a 318 and a 727 or 904 combo to put in it since I don't want the FI motor that is in it. Until I find (and fund) one, I've been taking a small vacation from it. Bud
