David A. Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Hello, Does anyone know what the DuPont paint number is for the Deep Blue color that was available on the 1950 Dodge pickups? As my luck usually runs, the local paint dealer is missing the color chips for 1950 Dodge Trucks. I looked at the 1948-53 chips. They show a Deep Purple Blue, a Waterway Blue, a Dark Blue, and a Ecuador Blue, but the Deep Blue that is shown in my Sales Features Booklet isn't listed for any of the other years. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You, David A. Quote
48Dodger Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/color/imgcol/index.htm Don't know if you have tried the DPETCA Knowledge section. There's a link at the top this page labeled "Visit DPETCA". Bunch of good stuff there. 48D Quote
Merle Coggins Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 I used those paint charts when I got my "Dodge Truck Dark Green" paint. I took a copy of it to my paint store. They called in somewhere and got the Dulux number crossed to a modern Spectromaster number. From there we were good to go. Merle Quote
David A. Posted March 29, 2009 Author Report Posted March 29, 2009 Thank you for the replies. I did look at the paint chips on the DPETCA site, but unless I missed it there isn't anything listed there for 1950 either. Thanks again, David A. Quote
48Dodger Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 There aren't paint chips, but the codes are there. page 5 lists the 1950 colors. I think there are two kinds of blue, "La Plata Blue" and "Dominion Blue".... 48D Quote
Kingdave Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Ive picked up off ebay paint chip cards for my projects , they are on there sorta often so might be worth a look ... Quote
Merle Coggins Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 For me the '48 and '49 Dark Green was the same as my '50 Dark Green. I took the glove box door with me to the paint store. Once they got the Spectomaster number from the Dulux number, they pulled out their paint chip books and found the new number. We set it next to the inside of the glove box door and it was a perfect match. Quote
