jsd245 Posted February 15, 2023 Report Posted February 15, 2023 That cold snap did it. It was 8 below iN CT. Can’t imagine what it was up there. Did you every get any use out of those wheels you picked up? Quote

Not much progress on the one you saw- but something new is coming-- you'll see pictures soon. Quote
wallytoo Posted March 2, 2023 Author Report Posted March 2, 2023 (edited) the only NH tv station has a program, NH Chronicle, that did a piece on the ice day this year. the link is below - it's about 5 minutes long. fwiw, my truck makes a very brief - 2 seconds - appearance at the 4:21 mark. and, i'm in that same shot, as well as in the background of the interview just after that.. jsd245 Posted March 3, 2023 Report Posted March 3, 2023 Love it Wally. Now that I have a running truck we should do some kind of Northeast get together. Quote
wallytoo Posted Sunday at 08:14 PM Author Report Posted Sunday at 08:14 PM after not having ice harvest day in 2024, we were back at it today. good clear 18" ice, blocks were 300 to 325 lbs each. pretty mild day, high 20s (after about 8" of snow overnight). filled the ice house, too, so a successful day. 25 blocks on this load. ended up getting a second load of 20 blocks to fill the ice house. (the first load was roughly 8,125 lbs of cargo...) 8 Quote
PT Moe Posted Monday at 03:09 PM Report Posted Monday at 03:09 PM Wow! That is some load in the old Dodge out on the ice. Once that real cold weather hit us all the lakes froze up nice and smooth and solid. What lake are you on? Big section of Sebago was still open as of last week. Thanks for sharing, great pictures. 47 1.5 ton Posted Tuesday at 01:19 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 01:19 AM That looks like a really neat event to do annually, wish we had ice that thick here. I always enjoy the pictures showing the old dodge on the lake and all the way to the ice house. Thanks for sharing! Quote
