hoofchaz Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 The flex line from the frame to the fuel pump on my '53 Cranbrook is leaking at one end. I am going to use a piece of hose and clamps to replace it. Can anyone tell me what the threads are on the inlet side of the fuel pump so I can buy a hose barb to thread in? Thanks, CHAZ Quote
TodFitch Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 I vaguely recollect 1/8" pipe thread. But please don't get too mad if I am wrong... Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Chaz.....do you happen to have an extra pump?? If so, take it to the auto store -- they will probably have what you need. Or call a store and tell them what you want.....they can likely help if they have any experience in the business. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Just remove the steel line from the pump to the carb. and measure that fitting. It's the same on both sides of the pump. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 It is definitely 1/8" pipe thread. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 If you want to be a real cheapskate, cut the crimped metal clamps off the hose ends, toss the leaking hose, and you'll have your barbed fitting. Guess how I know..... Quote
hoofchaz Posted December 13, 2008 Author Report Posted December 13, 2008 Thanks! If I let the car sit more than a day or two I have to jack up the rear end to get fuel back into the lines to start it up. That gets old quick! CHAZ Quote
