Reg Evans Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 I thought maybe one of you Chrysler or DeSoto guys might be interested in these parts I listed yesterday for the 25" flat 6's. Tell your friends. Thanks guys, Reg http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=120319213498 Quote
Dodgefran Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 Hi, I'm looking to do something like this for my 38 DeSoto 25" block. Over the years I've seen the front exhaust angle both to the right side and the left side of the oil pump. Are there any significant differences in clearance, other problems, etc.? Do any of you readers feel that one is better than the other? Thanks. This is a nice looking piece of equipment. Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 18, 2008 Author Report Posted October 18, 2008 Not sure I understand your question Fran. Quote
Dodgefran Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Hi Reg, I was referring to a discussion from quite a few years ago on this forum. They debated the pros and cons of having the exhaust pipe passing to the forward side of the oil pump or the rear side. I can't remember what the conclusion was. Thanks Quote
Tony WestOZ Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 While I had the camara out today I thought I`d snap a pic of the manifold used on the trucks in Australia. Because of the clearance issues with the clutch pedal the exhaust comes out in front of the oil pump. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 That road draft tube is also quite different. Ours go straight down, which would also probably be in the way of your pedal linkage. Merle Quote
Tony WestOZ Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 It should be pointing straight down, just been bent Quote
