Depending on your sheetmetal skills, I would be tempted to get a rusted cab and cut out the corner window surrounds as a manageable shape, and weld/braise that cutout into the cab, that way the correct creases were the rubber sits would be included, cutting skills wont need to be as precise. Then the job would be similar to cutting out rust.

My 2c worth, and as they are Aussie 2c that would be 1.58c US.

I don't think my wife's going to let me take a trip to North Dakota anytime soon for truck parts!

Can you give it some thought (if you even want to do this) and let me know whats its worth your while to cut the rear quarter windows out and ship them to Vancouver BC?

If its too much to ask please don't worry about it. I will also look around for some more local options.

All best,

I just scrapped a cab with the corner windows, but was able to save the glass. I picked every usable piece off this cab before it went. I have both side glass if you need them. You may want to check the distance between the horizontal bracing on the rear of the cab before you cut your cab up.

If I remember correctly he did this because of the difference in spacing between the horizontal rear cab bracing on the std and dlx cabs-I could be wrong. I had thought that someone else did this conversion and cut along the bottom lip below the rear window and replaced the cab roof up to the a pillar joints. I think that you're going to need at least 1.5" around the entire circumfrance of the corner windows to be able to get the recess and flange that the rubber mounts in. Mike

Sounds good to me Dale.

Do you have any idea what the weight might be? So I can work out the shipping....

....and I'm going to call a local welding shop tomorrow and see if they have any thoughts on how much metal is needed around the window for a proper fit.

i would be shipping fed ex from zip 58249 as we have an account with them. i don't think shipping would be high as they quoted me 30-40 to ship a tailgate to the west coast. i don't know the weight but i would think that 15lbs would cover it

I also have the cab for that - no windows however. I'm on the wrong ocean also.

What would you want for the 2 openings with a few inches of metal around them? I have no idea if the corner of a 39-47 cab is the same but it would be neat to add them if it is the same.
