Don Coatney Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Tim; Thought you were a V-8 guy?? You have several V-8 converted cars that dont run and one flathead six car that does run so I guess you are allowed to be classified as an inlinner and view the innliner forum postings Don Coatney Quote
Richie Hodge Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Tim, great article, I went out and bought some Rotella-T today. I'm due for a change soon. I guess I missed the threads about that. Thanks, Richie. Quote
martybose Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 I read the Inliner's thread, and while I understand the issue as it relates to Dino oil, I can't help wondering if a good full synthetic oil, where the base material has greater lubricating qualities than most Dino oils, would also provide the necessary properties? Something like Mobil 1, or even better Royal Purple? Marty Quote
Normspeed Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Marty, my top two choices were Mobil 1 and Rotella T. I like the reports of valve additives in the Rotella but over time I think I would have less sludge buildup under the valve covers with Mobil 1. I flipped a coin and went with Rotella 15W 40. I figure either item won't likely be a problem for a long time. And the way a lot of us pamper our motors with frequent oil changes, flahead sixes never had it so good! Quote
