The driver side door on my '51 B3B won't hold itself it the full open position. The problem is inside the door. A small clip has broken off and is missing. Here are pictures of what the clip looks like taken from the passenger side. Are replacement clips available somewhere or has someone figured out a good way of rigging up a replacement piece of some kind? Here is what the piece looks like (on the passenger side) taken from the inside and outside of the door... This is how it looks from outside of the door: This is how it looks from inside the door pointing camera through the access panel:

Well, I got the '48 off the ground for the first time to survey the status of the undercarriage. All pretty much looked like one would expect 70 year old stuff suspended just off of the ground to look - all of it needing some attention, but nothing urgent with the exception of the left king pin & bushings. The right one has a few thousands play, but the left one is about as floppy as it can get and still be attached to the spindle. I've done them on the '29 Ford. Any special knowledge I should have before pulling the spindles on the D-24? Also found only the right rear upper door hinge pin very loose. All of the others are solid. I am guessing I can just pull that hinge (its recessed in the center pillar). Any thoughts?

Hello, the DeSoto is finally getting to the part where we take care of the interior, so, new questions... The car has long ago lost the original door upholstery and the replacement was not high quaity. It only had one of the springs that hold the escutcheon against the window handle. What we don't know is if the door handles also should have those springs. The door sheetmetal has a place for the spring in the window handle, but it doesn't look that way for the door handle. Should it have spring in the door handle escutcheons? Should they be installed "inside the hole"? (as shown in one of the photos) I'm asking because I am about to buy the springs, and don't know if I need 4 or 8. Aside from all that, it got the whitewalls installed!

Hello!, I would like to ask you for a bit of help. My car, an export DeSoto SP15 equal to a Plymouth P15, finally is on a body shop to be repaired and painted. Hopefully upholstery will be done too. The car doesn't have its original interior, and we're having some doubts about the colors to use (the exterior of the car is black) for the seats, and mainly the roof liner, dash and upper part of the doors (around the windows). So, if anyone here who owns a P15 with an original interior (or redone with the original colors, or something close to that to get some ideas) and can post a few photos of the dash, roof, doors and seats, that would be of great help! Thanks! and greetings from Uruguay! Fede

Hey all, The D-24 is coming along. Needed a ton more metal-work than expected, but it's all coming together. Ready for paint, engine and tranny are both rebuilt and painted, ready for install, and interior is set to go. Until...got a call today asking if I can find a replacement right side, back door, lower hinge. The existing is messed up enough it shouldn't be used if we can avoid it. Any leads on where to get one. I think calling junk yards will be pretty futile. I was able to get most of the parts I needed (gaskets, weather-stripping, etc.) from Andy B. I don't think they'd carry something like this though. Thanks!

I've found a replacement passenger side door latch assembly for my '52 B3B, but there doesn't appear to be enough clearance with the window regulator mechanism. It's looking like I need to remove the bolts holding the window assembly so that I can push it toward the outside making enough room to push the interior door handle through. I'd rather not get into the window if I can help it. Any advice would be appreciated. thx
