Want to introduce my 1949 Plymouth P17 business coupe It's mostly a survivor with a not so good Earl Sheib paint job that a previous owner got a long time ago probably the $29.95 version,which I think it adds to the character of the car and it did polish up nicely It has upgraded front disk brakes,a BW r10 overdrive and relocated front shocks. It's a work in progress I still need to repair axle leaks ,transmission leaks and a fuel sending unit . But it's a strong runner and fun to drive and it gets a lot of attention at the local car shows among the sea of GM products 😀

  6. Sorry for going off topic here , but I noticed you relocated your shock absorber mounts are they home made and do you have the dimensions of the mounts and what shocks did you use ? Thanks in advance

Thanks for the help I do have the overdrive manual,but it doesn't show how the cable is attached to the overdrive unit and I believe that I'm probably missing some mounting brackets and some pin to attach to the arm That's why I would like to see pictures of someone with the same overdrive mounted on there car so I could get idea a make mounting bracket

Hello everyone I just purchased a 1950 Plymouth business coupe and someone installed a r10g overdrive unit ,unfortunately they neglected to install a lockout cable and kick down switch Can someone post pictures on how it's installed on overdrive unit I would like to see. If I'm missing some brackets or other mounting hardware. Thanks for the help

Hello Group I would like to add a front sway bar on my 1940 Dodge business coupe .it looks like it never had one , I have heard that sway bars from later model vehicles will work with not too much modifications , also my 1949 Plymouth business coupe looks like it had one but it's missing would the same one work ? I remember reading that a sway bar from a Cherokee will probably work ,just don't remember what year would work Thanks for the help

  15. Thanks Andydodge So what your telling me is that the 51 Plymouth suspension will have no problem fitting on my 40 Dodge Other then the sway bar The suspension from the Plymouth also comes with the hub ,brake drums and brakes and suspension springs

Hello to everyone I have an opportunity to purchase a front suspension from a 1951 Plymouth Cranbrook with all new components at a good price Can someone tell me if it would fit my 1940 Dodge business coupe It looks the same except for the upper control arms , on my Dodge they are a cast steel and on the Plymouth they stamp steel welded together

  22. Plymouth Adams very nice brake , but just don't have the space for that size and I like the idea of having the fingers to make pans and also like the heavy duty capacity for brackets thanks

Hello everyone I need to do floor work on my 1940 dodge business coupe , the work will include making braces , rocker panel work and a lot of bends I have been interested in getting the swag offroad heavy duty finger brake to use in my shop press , just wondering if anyone has any experience in using this set up ?
