  1. So what is a fair price for an r10 if it's runnable?
  2. Does your od trans. have the same mountings as a regular 3sp? I am really looking seriously at this now(who knows when I'll find another od localy). Is your block the 49 too? What is a fair price for one if it's usable?
  3. Interesting that you should bring this up. I just came across a od trans. out of a 56(that's all that's known). If I were to get it, what are some of the issues I may face mating it to a 49 p18 block(no hydrive), and installing into my 50 dodge wayfarer business coupe? I am already moving the old trans. mount brace to the non hydrive position, should I hold off on moving it till I decide wether to swap or not, or are the od and non-od 3sp transmissions the same, mounting-wise? Or do I just not have enough info on the od unit to answer anything?
  4. How far is that from portland?
  5. I think either drilling or prying the cap would work best. If you twist it off you will do more damage than prying(like a bottle cap). If you have some old keys you might try just seeing if anything fits, you never know.
  6. I love the old books. I have a 1956 motor services new automotive encyclopedia, goes back to 1931 on all american and british cars. It has a picture of a 54 plymouth with a chrysler turbine(covers that too).
  7. Powder charge?!?
  8. My bus-coupe was(is) basically a parts car. The p18 had 100 miles on rebuilt motor and very complete (drove it onto trailer).
  9. I paid $600 for the p18 and $250 for d33.
  10. I usually get the major dents and kinks out off the car, then mount it, and work it out the rest if the way.
  11. I love a gopod idea:D
  12. Is there any that can tell me if there is more to it than just the front end parts swap? More specificaly, do you need to alter the hydraulic system in some way(s)? (pressure regulator?, different master cylinder?).
  13. I believe it was the victim of a "no brake" situation. I also think the front is the original(I straightened it all out to mount it back up), but the front bumper and center sheet metal and grill were m.i.a. when I got it. Looks like the p.o. rattle canned the everything but the front end(right over the rust, moss and dirt?). Will post pic of dash later.
  14. I am in Portland Oregon. I will update my profile(as soon as I can figure out how). I don't think shipping it would be too feasable, but if there is anyone on the left coast that has one, I would drive a few hours.
  15. I don't think so.
  16. Very interesting. The most puzzling to me is, I have found some hand-written markings on the back of the dash that says it's a '52, as well as a few other parts. It all apears original, but over 60 years, who knows.
  17. Mine did not have one when I got the car, so not sure what to look for. Was it a split bench, not a split bench, folding, not folding. There is no back seat, so I am not sure about the need for a folding bench, but maybe to get to the space behind the seat. Anyone got the facts? Or even better, have the right one rotting away somewhere that you would sell?
  18. Looking to do the same on my 50 biz-coupe, only I have the whole body lifted off the frame. Where do you find those(could use the trans. mount rubbers too).
  19. Is it compatible(body parts) with the '52? I am almost certain that someone had rebuilt this car before. I have '52 markings on some stuff(and traces of purple paint:eek: ). Damn you Barney!
  20. For what it's worth here's a pic.
  21. I just put my p18 in it, had no motor when I got it.
  22. It has no grill at the moment. The pillar plate says 37093660. I have tha body off the frame now too, so I don't know if pics will help.
