  1. Here's that 46 Dodge truck, which was modified to fit a 360, and it was mounted on a Durango frame since the 114 inch wheelbase is the same as the original frame's wheelbase. This guy and his friend built that truck and the 73 Duster next to it which had a built 400 and would go 125mph in the 1/4 mile.
  2. Here's a nice shot looking down from near the area where we ate lunch.
  3. This '66 Hemi Satellite was driven by the original owner. He had all the paperwork with him. I got to take a look at that stuff; pretty interesting.
  4. This was a 64 Dodge A100 van. The guy was getting up out of his chair when I snapped the picture. I told him he didn't have to move.
  5. I was really diggin' this guy's license plate topper. I believe he was driving a '39 Olds or Pontiac.
  6. I was really enthused about this old Hudson until I discovered the V8 under the hood. Just not my thing I guess. The car looked good though.
  7. My son liked this fake food displayed with this Fairlane.
  8. This past Saturday (Aug. 5th) there was a car show that is an annual event hosted by one family (near Rushford MN, on their property). They are big Mopar enthusiasts so it was nice to finally NOT be the only Mopar or Dodge at a show. With that being said, I still was the only Mopar from the 50s there! There was a '46 Dodge truck, but I think that was the oldest Mopar other than my Meadowbrook. Most were from the 60s and 70s. Anyway, these kind hosts fed everybody....hundreds of people, which was really gracious of them. They had 50s and 60s music going all day as well. No cost for the show or lunch. I would say there was maybe 100 cars total throughout the day. This shot was early so there wasn't anyone parked on my one side yet.
  9. Earlier in the day (Friday Aug. 4) we took the Meadowbrook to Winona so my son and I could get haircuts. My barber had been wanting to see my car so it was a good visit telling him the car's history. After the barber we stopped at the liquor store for wine and the clerk commented on the car. Later in the evening I adjusted the carb a bit and cleaned the bugs out of the oil bath. Then wifey, doggies and I went out for a cruise. Been having beautiful cool weather in the 70s lately. Once again all riders were lulled by the engine and slight vibration of the car. Also, for the first time, on the Interstate today I let 'er rip and drove it 70mph for about 7 miles (to our exit). It didn't fluctuate in temperature and it surprisingly ran very smooth and didn't feel like the engine was screaming. My original owner's manual says the car can be run at that speed...well I ran it and it did just fine!
  10. Thanks for the correction. Not a big Ford guy. My friend wasn't even there. He let me into his garage remotely from his vacation destination...Michigan First time I had seen the car since he pulled it out of storage.
  11. I also wanted to share a little story with you guys. Yesterday (Aug. 2) I drove the Meadowbrook into town to pick up a few things at the hardware. When I was walking into the store a gentleman was approaching me from across the street and asked, "Is it a 49 or a 50?" I told him a 51. He then replied, "My Dad had a 49 Plymouth...what a dog that car was! But in '56 when I was a junior in high school he bought a new Dodge, that sucker would go 90mph in second gear!" He was laughing the whole time he was telling me this. Later in the evening we went to an outdoor concert (awesome jazz band) and afterwards a woman complemented on the Meadowbrook and started asking questions. Her teenage daughter was very adamant in letting us know how much she liked the car. I was surprised but very happy that someone 30 years younger than me really liked the Meadowbrook. The darn thing just keeps attracting attention!
  12. 230....
  13. Coming down!
  14. My friend is working on his 64 1/2 Galaxie, which would still be in his father-in-law's shed had I not encouraged him to get it going. Looks really nice inside and out but has been sitting for a number of years. Needs a full brake job.
  15. Had my car up on my friend's hoist today. Put on a new fuel pump, and also ran a ground wire from the gas tank to the frame hoping that would solve my fuel guage woes. It didn't work I also readjusted the brakes and tightened up a few bolts including one of the valve covers that was leaking. Drove through a monsoon on the way over there; wipers couldn't keep up!

    1950 Dodge B2C

    Love that truck!
  17. Hey fellas just bumping this post. The show is this weekend. Like I said before, it'd be worth the trip just to see the host's collection let alone anyone else who attends with their classic.
  18. Passed the 4,000 mile mark on the engine rebuild.
