Hi Merie
I am using UK bulbs which list as being 21 watt, However as you say this should not make any difference. I will double check the grounds.
Thanks
Pete
Hi
Whilst rewiring my P15 I installed 2 fuse boxes (1 from ign and 1 live from Batt). I ran a wire from the ign side down to the stop light switch and from the other side of the switch to the 3 stop lamps (not rocket science). Using the formula watts devide by voltage equals amps 3 x 21 watt bulbs = 63 watts devide by 12v = 5.25 amps. I installed a 10 amp fuse which should be a bit heavy, however the fuse blows. If I install a 15 amp fuse no problem. I have tested and there doesn't appear to be any short in the circuit. Any ideas? If there was a short that I cannot find would the 15 amp fuse also blow?
Thanks for any help in advance.

Thanks guys. I already have the resistor installed for the coil, plus carbon/silicone leads are already installed. I thought you could change the components inside the original distributor to convert it? would it need anything else changing and is it a better solution than staying original?
Thanks again
Pete
Hi
I am wanting to get a new distributor kit for my P15 and have been asked what distributor do I have? Can anyone tell me how I identify it, is there a part No or something? Also I am wondering if I should change it to electronic or stay standard. The car has been converted to 12V neg earth but I am still running with a generator not an alternator, would this make a difference if I change it to electronic?
Any help would be appreciated.
Pete
Hi Guys
I have today purchased a universal remote spin on oil filter kit with different adapters for choice of filters here in the UK for £35, which seemed a good deal.
Thanks yet again for all the help.
Pete
No I think PA is saying the number on the inside of the frame is the part number not the ID number. I think the ID number is going from front to back on the outside of the frame just before the frame kicks up to go over the axle.

Hi Andy
I will check out the postage as you suggest. I think your filter looks great, where did you get it? were the threads the same as OE, and did you do any of the other mods that some other members have suggested, if not is it working ok?
Pete
Hi Jim/Robert.
Yes you are right, I have the sealed type. I think I would like the type that you sent the ebay link for Jim but, as well as the $95 asking price they are asking $171.57 !!!! to ship to the UK, then I will have to pay another 20% tax on the total figure which works out at $319.88 which is stupid money. Has any body else fitted a remote filter without doing other mods?
Thanks again
Pete
On my P15 I am wanting to swap my canister type oil filter for one that I can change the element or maybe a remote spin on type. I know this subject has been discussed before but, could anyone suggest what would be in their opinion the best replacement? Some pics of the install would be great as well.
Thanks
Pete
"Sticky little mothers". I have checked and mine has set screws that will not budge, so have soaked them and will try again tomorrow. It looks like they have some type of spring clip on them as well??

Yet another problem.
When I purchased my P15 it never had any keys for the Doors or Trunk, so I bought some NOS locks. I have fitted the trunk lock and I am now trying to fit the Door locks. I have the trim off but can't see how to get at the inside of the lock to take off any clips or whatever holds the lock in place. Has anybody fitted any before? If so some help would be great.
Thanks
Pete
Hi Tony
No I don't think it has been modified. Some pic's would be great, I will also take a pic of the underside of the top, and some measurements.
Thanks
Pete
Thanks for the replies but, my air filter does not have any fill marks as can be seen in the pic's also the oil that can be seen in the pic is all that was in it so not sure if this is correct or not?
Pete
Larry
I hope this pic uploads ok as it is the first one that I have done.
This is the bracket that is on my P15 which puts the plate in the center of the bumper.
Pete
Thanks guys. I think I'll take a look around and see what I can find. I was really wondering if there was a plug somewhere on the gearbox to fit a switch
Pete
Hi
I am wanting to fit some back up/reversing lights on my P15. Does anyone know if there is a point on the gearbox or linkage to fit a switch? I seem to recall seeing a spring loaded remote switch somewhere but I can't recall where (must have a touch of oldtimers).
Thanks in advance.
Pete
Thanks Andy
The other thing that I am a bit worried about is that I am running stock 16" wheels but with 6.50 x 16 tyres (tires) instead of 6.00 x 16 so wondering if would have rubbing issues on the front wings (fenders)?
Andyd
Not trying to steal the thread but I want to lower my 47 p15 approx 2". Does that "cut 1 coil off will lower approx 2" apply to my car? + do you know if different length shocks will be needed front & rear?
Pete
I have none on both front doors but, the rear doors have them. As it would be hard for me to find replacements here in the UK has anybody fitted some from other cars? and if so would appreciate any advice on fitting.
Pete
