I just finished this job. By using the book messurments (which dont have tollerances ) some thread rod, and bolts. I was able to instaly bushings without an issue. Although a print on the fact-tree tools would be nice

How's it working now? Have you thought about doing some kind of shield for the brake? I'm going to ad one to my master cylinder after I get my front end back together. Stay healthy!

IR measurement for engine temps
zHxIxPxPxIxEz replied to 51_Meadowbrook's topic in Technical Archives
My engine was hot tanked on rebuild. I had some plumbing issues to sort out, and asked the guys here why i wasnt getting coolant out of the engine drain plug. Low n behold, She was still dirty! Just like the guys said. To clean it out i went to highest watter jacket opening, and fit a conector for an air line (a shop rag) . with it open, hot, and outside i smacked it with the air gun. Allot of nasty gunk came out, and fixed some localized issues i had. mabey try blowing the block out -

Update: After a few months of disassembly, and decreasing there was nothing to save in the trans. I was hopeful the ATF saved it, but it was rusted up. I picked up a spare trans to part out. after i pull the nut ect i will post the sizes and replacement part links. If you're looking for powerflite parts i will have them up in a week or so

Hello, I am repairing the P.O's botch of a choke setup. The automatic choke wasnt working right, so they removed the heater line, plugged the carb and left the automatic choke installed without a gasket so they could turn it by hand! If youre going to do this, atleast add a cable setup. right??? anyways I fixed the heat risser, unplugged the carb, and hot air tube on my exhaust manifold. My question is, all of the choke setups like this that ive seen have had 1/8 pipe thread for the rod. mine just has a nippel (pictured below) how do I attach my new steel line from the carb to this?? Does it need to be a steel line? being that its connecting to the hot as all heck exhaust manifold I would think. Thanks

Thanks, I guess i figgured the hot tank would have taken care of that. between the posible vaccum, and crud. i can see why water wouldnt want to come out! I just wanted to make sure there wasnt some dumb pipe or strange spot that the hot tankers could have plugged up

Hello, I had my engine rebuilt 4 years ago, as i did not have the space for it. After chasing down pictures for proper oil plumbing, and then still not having pressure.I realized the rebuilder messed up the oil plumbing. He forgot to put the pump outlet pipe on. I now realiz the rebuilder also messed up the plumbing for the coolant. I only just put this engine back in my car. The rebuilder is not awnsering phone calls. So anyways, I fired up the engine, got oil pressure. she ran great! i thought all was good. When i went to drain the system to pull the radiator( it has a minor leak), and fix some other issues. I noticed i did not get all 4 of my gallons of coolant out. So I pulled the plug on the side of the block. nothing came out. Does anyone have pictures or drawings of the coolant passages that can help me figure out where i am plugged? I refilled the radiator and ran it with the side open and nothing left the system. Thanks.

If only mine had turned out this lucky, I spun a bearing over last weekend and while I was wating for a rebuild kit I decided to clean up my manifolds and paint them. And then I snapped the exhaust clean in two. What the.

I had a simaller experience, try tighting and lossening the v belt. I did this and diagnosed the sound. In my case it was a bad water pump (mine also wobbled) good luck

I need to get the transmission book today. I drained it and like you said the fluid was less than oil. Yeah I got it from Emmy dad when I was ten. It didnt run until now(im 17 now) why does the dipstick say its empty when I put jn more fluod than what came out? How many quarts does this trans take? Any advice on how to clean the tourqe converter air breather? Thanks man -
