  1. I just finished this job. By using the book messurments (which dont have tollerances ) some thread rod, and bolts. I was able to instaly bushings without an issue. Although a print on the fact-tree tools would be nice
  2. How's it working now? Have you thought about doing some kind of shield for the brake? I'm going to ad one to my master cylinder after I get my front end back together. Stay healthy!
  3. My engine was hot tanked on rebuild. I had some plumbing issues to sort out, and asked the guys here why i wasnt getting coolant out of the engine drain plug. Low n behold, She was still dirty! Just like the guys said. To clean it out i went to highest watter jacket opening, and fit a conector for an air line (a shop rag) . with it open, hot, and outside i smacked it with the air gun. Allot of nasty gunk came out, and fixed some localized issues i had. mabey try blowing the block out
  4. Ooo this would be nice, i pickedmup a fenton dual carb tjat needs some tlc. I'm a junior die maker and want to do it nice...I also want to try ram tunning for 1500 RPM These cars are soo much fun following
  5. I totaly understand! I gave the conversuon allot of thought in 14' when i blew up my first engine ( i used detergent oil on the poor flatty that sat for who knows how long) but i havent looked since. if i find anything, ill let you know. I'm sure the old timers have something to say though
  6. wasnt there a download for how to add a full flow system on this site? does it not have tubing sizes listed?
  7. This is a better safe situation. I would have never guessed. thanks
  8. Update: After a few months of disassembly, and decreasing there was nothing to save in the trans. I was hopeful the ATF saved it, but it was rusted up. I picked up a spare trans to part out. after i pull the nut ect i will post the sizes and replacement part links. If you're looking for powerflite parts i will have them up in a week or so
  9. yup, I belive mid year 54 the went to the internal type aswell. I'm greatfull my driveshaft didnt pop off, but i definetly need to bolt it down to the trans output shaft. thanks guys
  10. Hello, After driving around my 1954 plymouth with a powerflite trans for abit i noticed my hand brake dragging. so I took it apart. It turns out the previous owner never bolted the brake drum hub down to the trans output shaft!! He just put the u joints on. Im looking st doing a full rebuild. i found pads and springs. What aboyt the flange nuts ?? thanks
  11. Hello, I am repairing the P.O's botch of a choke setup. The automatic choke wasnt working right, so they removed the heater line, plugged the carb and left the automatic choke installed without a gasket so they could turn it by hand! If youre going to do this, atleast add a cable setup. right??? anyways I fixed the heat risser, unplugged the carb, and hot air tube on my exhaust manifold. My question is, all of the choke setups like this that ive seen have had 1/8 pipe thread for the rod. mine just has a nippel (pictured below) how do I attach my new steel line from the carb to this?? Does it need to be a steel line? being that its connecting to the hot as all heck exhaust manifold I would think. Thanks
  12. Plymouthy you were right! it was still dirty. thanks when i started her up, i used an infared gun and everything looked consistant for heat thanks guys
