  1. I remember laying on the rear window package tray on long trips in my dad's '50 Merc. Lee
  2. You always have a angle Carter.
  3. Hey Norm, is this the same show we went to the day we went on Mad Hatter's Wild Ride in the Momad - after we checked out the wooden boats and woodies at Lake Arrowhead??? Lee
  4. What no more In & Out Urge? Got your email, talk soon. Lee
  5. Ah the memories.... But at least we didn't get mugged. Remember, I voted for the freeway. Lee
  6. Ol' Buddy, Red Deck + NM Sun = HOOOOOTTT!!! Kinda like red pool deck trim in FL. Lee
  7. Who is that behind those Foster Grants. Hey Bud, looks like you're on the upswing of the health thing. Bike is looking good too. I was in mourning all weekend. Wore 3 or 4 different LA Roadster's Show shirts in memory of all the good times we had. Tim saw Tommy drive by his house so I guess he didn't make it either. I'm shooting for 2014 - the 50th annual show, but maybe sooner. The pics on H.A.M.B are killin me. I guess no one has showed up a your door yet looking to crash on the way home. Lee
  8. Darin, I drove that same stretch of 66 in my roadster back in 2001 on my solo trip home from Normspeed's. A really nice ride. Even stopped in Seligman to get a hair cut from the "Barber of Route 66" I had read about in the Route 66 magazine. Thanks for sharing the pix. Lee
  9. Hey, what's three miles of gravel and mud road in a fenderless roadster among friends, eh. Lee
  10. Glad to see you back on line, now answer your phone. Lee
  11. Well Normspeed is spending a few day in Paradise this weekend. He is out at a friend's private 35 acre lake camping, fishing and enjoying nature. Talked to him yesterday and he had caught 10 bass, kept one for the frying pan and released the rest. Should be back tomorrow afternoon and I'm sure there will be some more pics. Lee
  12. Yeah the launch was cancelled. But we did hook up with Greg at the cruise night. Only problem was most of the cars blew out of the cruise early and there wasn't much left for Greg to see. I'm sure Norm will fill in the blanks for you tomorrow and provide more pics. He's got a new camera. Lee
  13. I'll kick it around with Norm when he gets here. Is Charlie in Davenport FLA or am I thinking of someone else? Wednesday might be a good day. There's a cruise night in Melbourne that would be good to cap off the day. You are talking about the 11th and 12th of March, right? Lee
  14. Tim, when he reads this I'm sure he'll be sorry about missing both your company and World Class Coffee. Norm likes his morning coffee. He cleared north FLA and is currently enjoying the slight rolling hills on Hwy 27 north of Ocala. Plans are to head into the Ocala National Forest for a day or two of relaxing at one of the natural springs campgrounds. He should make beautiful downtown Jensen Beach on Thursday. Lee
  15. I think the weather beat him down pretty good. Lee
  16. Well old Normspeed made it down to the FLA border today. Said it took forever to clear Atlanta and he stuck to backroads rather than risk life and limb on the interstate due to the road conditions and heavy traffic. Should be down here at the Paradise Road Garage in another day or two. Taking his time and trying to enjoy the ride. Lee
  17. Well today's update finds Normspeed still making his way east on his trip to Sunny South Florida. He found a nice campground in the Vicksburg, MS area and then made in into GA for the Weekend and a visit with his Mom. Said he was in Hotlanta camping at Stone Mountain...in the snow. Still plans on visiting a favorite old campground farther south in GA before hitting FL. The Momad is humming along but he said those Atlanta drivers with all their driving in the snow expierience scared the heck out of him. Lee
  18. No, he's hugging I-20 on his way to Atlanta. Trying to do some back roads when he can. I think he was shooting for Northern AL tonight. He hasn't checked in yet. I'll post an update if we connect. Lee
  19. Been keeping in touch with Ol' Normspeed on his trip east. Yesterday he almost made it out of NM. Camped at a city park in Hobbs, NM about 5 miles before crossing into TX. Tonight he was NE of Dallas and had just pulled into a TX state park that had a $10 self service camping fee, just put your money in the box and pick your own campsite. Sounds like he's having a good trip so far although he said the Dallas traffic was murder. Had a little gas problem and changed out the fuel filter with the spare he had with him. He's trying to stay off the interstates as much as possible and enjoy the sites. He said the Momad is purring like a kitten, except for the one gas hiccup. I'll keep ya'll posted on his east bound and down progress Lee
  20. We're waitin for ya good buddy, it's gunna be fun. I'll be in touch with Norm along the way so I'll relay any notable happenings from Norm's trip to you guys...or just watch CNN. Lee
  21. You could keep your poutty dolls in it.
  22. This from the man that's buying up every available tractor grille in Luna County, New Mexico?? Of course the grilles come with a complimentary tractor attached. Lee
  23. Hey Norm Ol' Buddy, I've got two carbs I bought plus the carb that we rebuilt at the Carter School of Carter Carb Rebuilding World Headquarters in Glendora, CA. If you need them I'll ship um in the morning. Lee
  24. That's the problem, it's not a MOON fuel block it's one of those NOOW offshore knockoffs. I'd take it back to the guy you got it from and see if it's still under waranty. BTW, talked to Gary last weekend at River Ranch and saw the new car. He made it back fine and was real proud of his new find. Lee
  25. Sounds to me like you are slowly putting together the cast for a new Disney animated movie. Or maybe a sequal to Steven King's Christine. Oh and those headlights, could those be Guides that the "traditional rodders" pay big bucks for? Lee
